1971 Plymouth Cuda Convertible
In 1970, Plymouth redesigned the Barracuda model to the classic long hood and short deck muscle-car look that became popular. With this updated look came the space under the hood for all the big block Mopars of the era, including the 426 Hemi. This example features a period correct warranty block from Chrysler and the A833 four-speed transmission. Only 289 Hemi-four speed Cudas were made in 1970. The ’71 Cuda Convertible is highly sought after by collectors and car enthusiasts alike. Its combination of powerful engines, aggressive styling, and limited production makes it a standout in automotive history. The convertible option was discontinued after 1971, and only 2,875 Plymouth Barracuda Convertibles were made in 1970 and 1971. The 426-powered Barracuda was especially rare, with only 780 produced. This Hemi Cuda is finished in the very desirable In-Violet, also known as Plum Crazy, and features a black vinyl top, black interior with optional Rallye Dash, center console, and was restored by Restorations by Julius.
